On January 17, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, had a group talk with the members of the leadership and relevant responsible comrades of the Standing Committee of the new Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and the CPPCC Sichuan Provincial Committee. He stressed that we should firmly follow the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on Sichuan's work, thoroughly apply the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, fully implement the decisions and plans of the Second Plenary Session of the 12th CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, always keep in mind the "three imperatives", fulfill our duties with diligence, work together to deliver a good performance in Sichuan's work, and make concerted efforts to write a good chapter of Chinese modernization in Sichuan.

Wang Xiaohui pointed out in his speech that the leadership of the Standing Committee of the new Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and the CPPCC Sichuan Provincial Committee, the Director of Sichuan Provincial Supervisory Commission, the President of the Higher People's Court of Sichuan Province and the Chief Procurator of the People's Procuratorate of Sichuan Province were elected at the Provincial Two Sessions. Through the election, the structure of the provincial leadership has been further optimized and the overall function has been further enhanced. This fully reflects the great importance attached by the CPC Central Committee to the development of the provincial leadership in Sichuan, and the high trust and eager expectations for all comrades.

Wang Xiaohui pointed out that the 20th CPC National Congress has drawn an ambitious blueprint for building a modern socialist country in all respects and advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization. The Second Plenary Session of the 12th CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee thoroughly implemented the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, and systematically planned how to lead Sichuan's modernization with Chinese modernization, sounding a clarion call for us marching towards new goals. The five-year tenure of the new provincial leadership is in the most important and painstaking period to promote Sichuan's modernization on the new journey in the new era. From now on, we have taken over the "relay baton" for governing and prospering Sichuan. In the face of this heavy responsibility, we must fulfill our duties with diligence, and work hard so as to deliver a satisfying performance in Sichuan's work to General Secretary Xi Jinping, the CPC Central Committee and the people of the whole province.

Wang Xiaohui pointed out that we should improve political ability and strengthen theoretical guidance. We should transform the profound understanding of the decisive significance of "two establishes" into a high degree of consciousness to implement "two upholds", take the study and practice of the Party's innovative theory as a lifelong compulsory course, strictly abide by political discipline and rules, strictly carry out the democratic centralism and the system of asking for instructions and reporting on major issues, and always maintain a high degree of consistency with the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core under any circumstance and at any time. We should maintain focus on development and act with courage and a high sense of responsibility. We should revolve around promoting the implementation of the strategic deployment of "synchronization of new industrialization, informatization, urbanization and agricultural modernization, urban-rural integration, and common prosperity of five zones", take the actual situation into account to identify the entry point and the key tasks, perform our duties, cooperate closely, and work together to promote the good start and robust momentum of Sichuan's modernization on the new journey in the new era. Promoting Sichuan's modernization is a long-term task and a cause that requires our sustained efforts to ensure enduring progress. We must establish a correct view of political achievements, respect objective laws, and prioritize our work. For the current work, we should immediately make efforts to achieve what we promise. Wang Xiaohui pointed out that it is necessary to cultivate the awareness of serving the people and improve people's well-being. We should firmly practice the people-centered development philosophy, continue to work hard to solve problems of the greatest, most immediate, and most practical concern to the people, and steadily promote common prosperity, so that the people can live a better life day by day in the historical process of modernization. We should carry forward the spirit of fighting and improve our ability. We should always prevent risk, think about worst-case scenarios, try to make breakthroughs, dare to fight, be good at fighting, continuously improve our ability to adapt to and cope with the new situation, and take the initiative to understand, address and seek for changes. In particular, we should carry out in-depth inspection, often visit the fields, workshops and project sites, especially places with more difficulties, concentrated contradictions and complicated situations, and further analyze the situation, so as to proactively identify problems, and figure out solutions. We should carry forward the fine style of work and maintain integrity. We should set an example for the subordinates, always observe the laws, discipline, the rules and morality, take the lead in abiding by the spirit of the Party's eight-point frugality code and the ten-point decision of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province and its implementation rules, use power like walking on thin ice, maintain noble moral sentiment and healthy lifestyle, strengthen family education, foster family values, effectively manage relatives, family members and staff around us, be honest, fair and upright, and stick to the bottom line.

Wang Xiaohui stressed that at the beginning of the year, all kinds of work require great efforts. We should make solid efforts in all aspects during the Spring Festival holiday, coordinate epidemic prevention and control and people's livelihood guarantee, mitigate risks and hidden dangers in key areas, and ensure that people have a happy and peaceful festival.
